Occupational English Test – OET

Since 1st November 2017 the NMC has accepted the Occupational English Test (OET) at a level “B” as an alternative to IELTS level 7.0 for nurses to work for the NHS in the UK.

Worcester Medical is a provider of OET training courses both in hospital and at our training centre in Worcester, UK. We are looking for experienced OET teachers, however under some circumstances we are prepared to offer OET teacher training to the right candidates.

This is free of charge to teachers but requires you to follow a 50-hour course to gain qualification. Your qualification will be tied to the Worcester Medical ‘umbrella’ institution but you can take this (together with your experience) to other OET accredited training providers.

Needless to say the overarching requirement is for good, solid EFL teachers. If you pass this test then you may be offered OET training to do in your own time.

If you think you fit the bill please get in touch using the contact form.

OET assesses the language communication skills of healthcare professionals who seek to register and practise in an English-speaking environment.
